For all you eastern Oregon guys, a pretty interesting movie with a "different" ending: Meek's Cutoff.
A "relatively" true story from 1845. Actually filmed around Burns and Hines, Oregon.
I have flown and hunted a fair amount in the area, so the landscape in the movie is interesting.
The critics loved it, but the public less so. I still recommend it for what would appear to be a relatively accurate portrayal of coming into Oregon by wagon in 1845.

Looks good! I suppose it will come out on the internet long before my town gets a movie theater!

I used to drive that road all the time. Went to college in Caldwell and grew up outside of Grangeville.
Didn't they just open a new multi-plex in Mesa?
The film is art and pretty limited release. It does open June 3 at The Flicks in Boise. Unless you are a real history buff, probably better to wait for the DVD.
