Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!
I worked for a pipeline patrol company that budgeted maintenance. I helped install a used tank in my C-172 in Sweetwater, Texas. I noticed the tank had no tape over the holes and was dusty. Halfway around my 3500 mile loop, the engine quit on takeoff at Lebanon, Missouri. I landed on the remaining runway. I was glad I always use the low ground effect takeoff. It made the forced landing a non-event. Mouse hair was packed tightly in the thimble screen of the carb. We found the naked dead mouse in the tank.

Glad to hear of a good emergency use of ground affect takeoff s. I just thought I would gain speed quicker for climb out in low horse airplanes.
