Middlegate is a stop at the intersection of US-50 and the road that goes south towards Gabbs. It has an outstanding country restaurant in absolute middle of nowhere.
A friend was travelling two days ago and told me that people flew in. I saw a couple of taildragger Cessnas in a photos, perhaps 180 (looked kind of large for 170B).
Does anyone know what they used to land? The U.S.-50 is not busy but still, it's kinda...I suppose you can patrol back and forth and establish that there's no traffic, but then someone can easily walk out of the restaurant and start driving.

Thanks a lot, that makes sense. Well-produced video, too.

Done it a few times out of Carson City. You land on what is left of the old Lincoln Highway; it's in rough shape, so keep that in mind with small tires. Powerlines run North/South along the road's East end, and you can pull up to the area in front of the building to park. I usually land to the east and depart to the west because of the lines if the winds permit—a neat spot with great history.
