Minam Lodge (7OR0) web cams

Supporters of the Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF), the Idaho Aviation Association (IAA), and the Wallowa County Pilots Association (WCPA) have recently completed a year-long project to install web cams at the Minam Lodge Airfield (7OR0). Minam Lodge is located within the Eagle Cap Wilderness in the heart of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in northeastern Oregon. The airfield is accessible only by aircraft or via an eight-mile long forest trail from the nearest road.

The RAF provided a financial grant to assist with equipment procurement, in collaboration with USFS and Minam Lodge owner Barnes Ellis. The success of the project was dependent on the technical support provided by Paul Poorman for solving a large number of technical problems. Assisting with the on-site works was Joseph Aviation Charter School student, Eon Goodrich. Dr. Paul Collins, Greg Bales and Bill Ables completed many flights in and out of Minam to transport the required equipment and personnel.

While the new web cams are located at Minam Lodge, the information provided will be useful to pilots planning to use the adjacent Red’s Horse Ranch (68D).

The new webs cams can be accessed from https://www.eye-n-sky.net/webcam/Minam/Minam-North.jpg and https://www.eye-n-sky.net/webcam/Minam/Minam-South.jpg

Re: Minam Lodge (7OR0) web cams

Beautiful. Thanks for the effort, money, and time spent on this. Minam and Red's are so unique in our area, and this will help make aviation decision making easier and safer.
