Modern 180/185 replacement?
Technical and practical discussion about specific aircraft types such as Cessna 180, Maule M7, et al. Please read and search carefully before posting, as many popular topics have already been discussed.
With the huge boom in sport aviation and Cessna itself on the resurgent there are plenty of brand new, high tech sport aircraft to choose from.
What is completely absent is a new aircraft which can provide the same utility as a 180 or 185. Why should that be?

The Found Bush Hawk XP seems like the closest modern answer to a 185. And then there's (dare I say it...) Maules. Not as robust as the sport market segment, but better than "completely absent" perhaps. I'm not saying either is as classy as a C-180/185, but I wouldn't throw either of them out of bed for eating crackers
