Monday morning flight

Not me, this guy. I was driving northbound on I-15, about a third of the way up what we call the Malad Summit. It was windy, but straight up the pass, and I can say from experience flying the area, probably not too turbulent, pretty laminar flow in that area, with that wind direction. It was about 9:00 in the morning, and whatever we all were doing, this shows what this pilots Monday morning was like.

I pulled over and watched for 5 minutes, thinking someone may step out of the chopper onto the lines (I've seen other pictures showing just that, damn....). But apparently they were "just" doing a long, slow, close visual inspection....., over a busy major interstate, on a windy day, on a Monday morning. =D>

Re: Monday morning flight

They (Haverfield) have based at KBMC for the last year during the construction of that new transmission line. They have a platform and a guy that does a lot of work from it and also they have lifted all the pulleys and ran the pulling rope for all the line pulls. It has been pretty amazing watching them work around here. I have seen them "parked" on top a pole with the guy outside working in a sideways snowstorm. They are bad ass. :D
