More video help please!

So I finaly joined this century and bought a gopro at Costco today. I got a spot to mount it on the wing but I have no idea what the camera settings should be. Can anyone give me some pointers before I go flying in the morning? I'm just looking for what camera settings will give me the best results. Thank you!

Re: Video Newbie, please help before my flight tomorrow!

I'm an idiot, I just read Zane's 'how to shoot video' tutorial. Good info! Thanks, Zane!

Settings are all based on conditions. and how old your computer is. I have yet to get a new computer so I use lower resolutions. which still ain't half bad. Hi Res on the new Go's will bog older computers. Start by reading the instructions and learning how to operate the camera first. It's all written down there.

More video help!

Does anyone have anything to offer in regards to converting these video files and editing? Ive tried the ipad, laptop, and desktop computer. Everything is so slow it wont hardly work. I have less than an hour of video and ive been trying to convert this and edit it since 1 this afternoon! Do i need a new computer? If so what should i get? I'm not a computer geek or video guy so I would appreciate any help. By the way, ive been trying to use gopros editing software.

Re: More video help please!

I tried several different vid. editing programs, found them ALL to be counter-intuitive. Least confusing I thought, was "Magix video-easy". Cheap/easy. I'm now able to do basic editing (if I remember where I am) and do the titling & transitions, etc. Interesting, but time consuming.
Computer: Tell the salesperson what you wanna do with it & he'll (oops they'll) fix you up with a good video card & lots'a RAM.

Re: More video help please!

I bought a Go Pro Hero+3 Black three weeks ago.. First video I shot was 1080 /48fps... I had to buy a new computer the even view it, none the less to edit it..

Second video was 720 /48fps... I used the Go Pro free editing software.... I was able to edit it, add sound. The learning curve is steep for a computer dummy like me.. But is came out pretty good...

On the third flight the camera died... I sent it back last week and Go Pro is sending my a new one tomorrow.... Apparently there was a bad batch of Hero+3 Blacks....

My next experiment is to change the 170 degree lens to the narrow setting as it makes the mountains look tiny...
