Most affordable 185 amphibs option?

Unfortunately, the time is nigh for us to accept I want amphibs to use my plane as I desire. Fuel, and distances between it are just too limiting here on straight floats for the plans we have with the family in the 185.

At the point I’m willing to tolerate the weight, but that brings us to the next hurdle, the cost. Aerocets are the desire, but costs and desires don’t often match and they certainly don’t here.

I see a set of whip amphibsfor a 206 at 25k, looks like a a more reasonable path after getting the correct components for the 185 from Whip.

Other suggestions of affordable 185 amphibs, that are supportable?

I paid 25k$ for a set of Edo 3500 amphibs that went on a 68 185 E about 20 years ago . Not sure what prices are now . Not sure if that helps

That’s the sort of budget I’d like to pull this off on, with some wiggle room.

I've got no useful info for you, but keep me in mind when you want to sell your 3430s.

What’s the mission?

I have 2790s, love em, I have seen them for sale for not to much occasionally, I easily get 120kts cruise and they work great for my mission

Now if you’re big gross numbers all the time, or have a hard time finding the sweet spot, maybe not the best

If you need more weight the next best option would probably be wips

Nothing wrong with the small Edos, I am looking for a bigger float for what we’re doing, at the moment a used set of Whips seems a good fit.
