Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

"Mud Fenders" on a Cessna?

Last year I saw a Cessna 180/185 with Canadaian registration in Blackfoot, Idaho. It had the coolest "Mud Fenders" above the tires which were bolted onto the spring gear. Has anyone seen these or anything like it? ( I took a photo of it and was going to attempt to track down the mod. Lost my phone week after to a river event and some faulty dry bag(s).)

The only other option I have seen are the "mud scraper" type, which bolt on with possibly the axle bolts, and have a rubber piece which touches the back of the tires.

Thanks,
Bill

This is not a Cessna so probably doesn't count but this is what I made on my Tundra. Trial landing on a dirt strip, Ha.

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.

Did they look anything like these??

These are Cessna's factory fenders on a C-188 Ag Truck. They should be the same gear as the C-185 and bolt right on minus the wire cutters. The fenders really don't cover much on the 8.50x10 but on the smaller tires they cover alot better.

If anybody wants the Cessna Part Number let me know, I can pull it out of the Parts Manual for you.

If you would be so kind I would appreciate it.
Chris

In the Cessna Model 188, 1976-1984, Parts Catalog, Number 22 on Figure 45 shows a Fender Assy,1641023-1 LH and 1641023-2 RH. It might need some very slight modifying if you don't have the wire cutters on the front of the gear legs.... I hope that helps. If I can figure out how to scan the 2 pages I could put them up here for everybody.
