Do you have strip at the farm.

Hi Tim, I have 850' of hay field. So far I am to chicken, ah, to wise to try it.

I have a 100 gallon tank in the back of the PU, so I haul it to KTTD.

Good question on Medford. It is legal in Or. Wa. and Id to sell UL mogas for off road use. But as we are finding out it is not easy to find, YET! I think that will change.

Rob

850 feet ????Geez I can take off and land twice in that distance.. :D

Well it's rough, side hill / up hill, one way landing, not oriented into prevailing wind, 100 trees on the go around, with rising terrain, not a good go around, have to thread the needle between 50 foot trees on the approach.

It can be done. As Clint Eastwood said. " A man has got to know his limitations" I didn't get to 50 years old doing the things I have done and be foolish.

I don't need the bragging rights anymore. Now if someone out there wants the bragging rights be my guest. I'll get the video camera out.

Approach over the dirt between the trees, over the drainage ditch, slopes down to left, as you slow turn right towards the street. This doesn't show the 100' tree but it's there.Image

stol, I wondered how you could take off 2 times in 850'. I checked out your web site and it became clear. A V8 in an experimental, now that's a thing of beauty.

Hey rob, that is nice country you live in. Will have to get a photo of my proposed landing area. It is 1100 ft long with power line 650 ft before touchdown spot. Slight uphill.

I know my plane will land or take off there light. I know there are lots of pilots who could do it. I keep asking myself why. The bail out areas just aren't good enough. Get rid of the trees and it's a piece of cake.

After looking at your pics of your place from above my first thought was... Boy thats a nice looking paved road in front of your place, with a great turnout at your building. That would be my first choice,,

Excuse me officer,, my engine was running rough and I had to make a quick landing to check things out,,, Oh Hi Rob.. :o   This comment will self destruct in 10 seconds.

You can come by tomarrow afternoon. Spent 4 hrs on it this afternoon. Higher priorities some times. Also my partner in the other plane was not to thrilled about it.

I will give it a test as soon as I get the bigger tires on.

Killed about 50 rock chucks the other day. There are still plenty for seed stock. Next year will the first annual BCP fly in rock chuck shoot.

Hey Rob,I dont blame you for being careful at your own place.
It would REALLY suck to bend some aluminum at your home.
Nice looking place tho,C

Being chicken is good for the health. :) Better to be known as a weenie than to be known as the guy who stacked up his plane in his own front yard. You can turn us off, but you have to look at your neighbors every day.

low rider, the side hill I feel is ok. It's bumpie from moles. After haying it off in June I'll mow it short and smooth it. Yes KTTD is 15 minutes by car. We can walk it drink some beer and then.

Here, hold my beer and watch this. Oh, I almost forgot I don't drink now. I have a plasma cutter, saws all, and truck so the wreck will be easier to take to the scrap yard. NOT!

Big is a relative term. 22-250 and down is ok. As to the chuck hunting, we will have to wait for the second hatch.

Just learning to fool around with Google Earth. Where the line is is where I will be landing. It is 1100 ft long. The road about 650 ft to the south has a power line on the north side of it.

When landing to the north there is a slight uphill grade.

Tim, great part of the State of Jefferson you live in. Your strip looks very doable. Do you keep the 182 at the Weed AP? We aren't that far apart I'll have to come by when you have the flyin, varmint shoot, chili feed.
