My First Video

I finally got a camera for some in-flight video. I went with the Drift HD 170 mainly because of the remote.

After messing around with various mounts, and learning how to use the camera, yesterday, I was finally able to launch. Anyway, the result isn't perfect. In fact, I had some trouble with the sound. The editing was more of a bear than I thought it would be too.

WARNING: This is an unconventional flying video. Check it out:

Bwahahahaha...nice work. Erin and I cracked up, knowing you as we do.

What was up with the video frame aspect ratio changes? Some shots were 16:9, others were 4:3.

That was awesome, Alex! =D>

I loved the air keytar bass action in the intro! Insta-classic.

Great song by We Have Band, too.

I see real potential for an Alex / Swindle collaboration singing big tires with the air guitar and drums...

Zane: I don't know. It just sort of happened. It was late at night and my first experience with Final Cut. I know there is much room for improvement. I'd like to add more ambient sounds, some transitions between cuts, and maybe a third camera perspective.

I do know this however: It was really a kick in the pants to make. Hopefully I can do more if time allows.

I practice in the car.

Although, I must admit; I never really listen to music when I fly. Instead, I want to tune into engine sounds. I made an exception this time though.

Definitely put a grin on my mug! :D Of course like Zane said knowing you adds to the humor. Nice job on a first attempt syncing the music to the video. =D>

My First Video

Hilarious Alex. Nice air bass and percussion. It would be funny to put together the "Backcountry Air Band", all with in cockpit views of the band members air-playing the different instruments, to the same song, editing it all together.

But what song???

Re: My First Video

Good Job, Alex! Just from the tiny tiny tiny bit I've done, it's hard and time consuming.

That was a much better first attempt than a lot of people would do and hilariously entertaining to boot.

Great job Alex!

Vids are a great way to past time while not flying. And they make flying that much better.
