Not sure who has the right story on this...Airport manager indicated it went down on T/O, another source says "suddenly lost power", etc. The park is to the north of the airport, but winds were 230 at 4.
A takeoff on 35 doesn't make much sense, given 35 is uphill with a slight tailwind component.
An overshoot could be possible if too high with a tailwind component, then not enough power to climb on a go around.
At noon on Tues AWOS was calling 95 deg F which calculates a DA of 5000.
