Hi All,
I recently found this picture that was in my great grandmothers collection.
In pencil on the back, someone had written "Joe Hark's plane, Chickashaw, Oklahoma". Had to have been from the '20's or 30's.
Does anyone know what it is? I was thinking Ryan?

Not sure of the plane model (yet) but that was the oil outfit where Wiley Post got his start in Oklahoma. Doesn't look like the Ryan I'm familiar with, which didn't have a cabin (military trainer.)
Edit:
looking at photos of other Ryans I have changed my mind. That's quite the windshield, but the wing and stabilizer struts and landing gear look almost identical to other Ryans such as M-1 mailplane and the M-2. The Spirit of St Louis was a specially - built Ryan based somewhat on the M-2 too. Sure like to know the model number.

Thanks to once&futr_alaskaflyer and DaveG. I appreciate the help.
I remember looking at this picture in my great grandma's house in OK as a young boy. My mom was going through some stuff today and found it. Seems the old girl thought I would like it so she put my name on it. Must have been 20 years ago or more that she passed on. I have no idea where she got it, but I do know that they lived in Chickashaw when my grandfather was a baby.
It's fun to try to imagine what it was like flying in those days, that Ryan must have been a real Cadillac.. A watch, compass and a chart. No over eager FAA, just go ahead and land on the road. Those really were the shining years for GA.
Thanks again.
