"Colin
We were excited to heli in Silverton — until we saw the bird. Looking like something your stoner uncle built in the garage out of four Meccano sets, a fish tank, and an AMC Pacer, this helicopter seats a pilot plus two only, making it a tricky vehicle, logistics-wise, when your group has 8 people in it. Fantastic view from the chopper. That brings back memories. All good

Ooh, I know this one!

Island Bar Recreational Vehicle Bombing Range
(It's a busy campground in the summer, a few miles up the main Salmon River from Riggins)

and

Riggins International Airport and Boulder Field
(It's the bench directly across the river from Riggins)

Kevbert,
Good job! The one upstream from Riggins now has a "temporary" powerline streched across it making it a very dangerous, one-way, 500 foot airstrip. I'm also going to talk to the new owner of the old Riggins Airstrip about permission to land there.

I didn't know Riggins had a strip right near town. I know a few people that live their year around. It's not too far from my stomping grounds. I flew right over it last summer on my Labor day trip.

I recognized both but didn't know the names. Any salmon fishermen yet? I heard there was six fish at Rapid River Hatchery already.

Hey BCP,
Both the Main and Little Salmon Rivers were running big and brown. I only saw two guys fishing at the confluence out my hotel window. I think they were fishing, not catching and enjoying a few beers too.

Obviously, I didn't know the names either, but I didn't let that stop me!
