Nando Groppo Trial: Cool italian LSA

Sometimes the most fun way to get into the backcountry, Part 103 Ultralights and Light Sport Aircraft have their own considerations.

Looks like a fun light sport tandem taildragger called the Trial, from italian company Nando Groppo.

Looks fun, but this swept tail business on a taildragger is so...European. ;)

Aero always debuts some cool planes.

The Shark is back. Not backcountry, but pretty cool

I somehow stumbled onto this again today, and found an updated video. Check out that cool cargo pod @ 1:21.

Re: Nando Groppo Trial: Cool italian LSA

That front hinging belly pod caught my eye (the rest of the plane is pretty cool also). Now that I have taken off my Swiss muffler, a belly pod is back on the table, so to speak. I have an expert composites guy and expert S-7 guy (same guy) 30 miles away, I need to somehow get him fired up on a belly pod for the S-7 with the Roberts Gear mod. Sending him a link to this video will maybe help. What gets me about them is it seems like the Super Cub guys all report no loss of speed, many reporting speed INCREASE

Looks like a scaled down Aermacchi AM.3, previously reviewed in this forum http://www.backcountrypilot.org/forum/aermacchi-am3c-15335?p=207448#p207448

All metal, but so is the Zenith 750, they keep them light somehow.

I amazed they managed to make it so light too. There must be some stressed skin in the fuse for sure, otherwise it would weigh about the same as C-150.
