The aircraft insurance industry is wincing right about now.

Nashville flooding...Cornelia Fort under water

When I was young and knew nothing about flying I used to stare at the airplanes at Cornelia Fort. Later as a young college grad I worked nearby and would look at them there wondering if I could ever afford lessons.

Oh man that sucks! Hope everyone had hull insurance. I can't imagine sitting at home wondering what kind of shape my plane was in after something like that happened.

A lot of those could only wish to be sitting at home wondering. Instead, they're busy mucking the entire soggy contents of their home onto the lawn so it can be hauled to the landfill.

Re: Nashville flooding...Cornelia Fort under water

I went up Monday morning after all the rains ended on Sunday evening and shot a load of photos from overhead... http://www.flickr.com/photos/34386358@N ... 984121162/

A lot of damage, but relatively minimal national press coverage considering the extent of the damage. . This is one of the best videos I have seen yet about the event although the music choice could have been better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFjaQoOdJvI

With regards to Cornelia Fort...Colemill Enterprises was located on the field. Everything that was on the field is a total loss, but thank goodness that it is a small airport and not much was on the field.

Wow-those pictures are sobering. A lot like Grand Forks, ND in 1997.

Some of those houses are huge, the country music business has been good to some!

Best of luck cleaning up, and keeping the people from leaving.

Not only has the country music business been good, this will give them all kinds of new material to write about #-o

Side slip--I saw they were interviewing Brad Paisley this morning on the Today show, and he said the same thing.

His place looked like a mess, lots of waterlogged guitars and stage equipment.
