Nauvoo Illinois

I just talked my wife out of going on a cruise in favor of a 7 to 10 day cross country this summer. We want to spend a few days in Nauvoo IL. Not sure where to stop close by were we can rent a car. Any suggestions?

Not sure on IL. But ya think there's a Chinese place in town with some damn good pot stickers?? I know I place in Emmett that has some pretty damn good pot stickers!

If you jump up to Wisconsin, the town of Elkhart Lake, WI is pretty cool. There's a few great places to stay in Elkhart and some really great restaurants. I think Plymouth is about the closet airport. Somewhere north if town, I think there is a grass strip.

Re: Nauvoo Illinois

I just looked up and Avis has rentals at Burlington IA which isn't far away. I got my floatplane rating on the Mississippi from Moline Illinois down to Keokuk IA. The examiner jumped in at Burlington. That day was the first time I ever heard of Nauvoo----oldest town in Il I believe.

Hey make that trip go a little farther east. We'll make some videos of that 182 on some hills and gravel bars??

A few years ago we spent a week in Nauvoo and rented a 172 out of Keokuk. Seems like they had a car or two at the airport that could be borrowed. I'm sure there a rental place there as well in town.

If we do this trip (85%), your place is on my list. You need to fly out here to check out the Redwoods.
