NE1 heard of a plane being damaged parked at a big FBO?

What about if a military plane caused the damage? The fbo parked the plane, chalked the plane, had custody and control. A military plane taxis by and flips the parked plane on its side. Such a random event but has anyone heard of a similar incident? Who was at fault? Who paid up? I think everyone can read between the lines, but I can feel that the little guy is going to get screwed here.

Any payout is a mark on your record. I’ve been told 2x insurance premiums for the next 5 years.

From personal experience I can attest that’s definitely not always the case, even if the claimant is 100% at fault. As for the question posed, I suspect the insurance company would at least try to pursue whatever party caused or contributed to the incident but the aircraft owner likely would never know if they did or if they were successful.

I would not involve my insurance

I’d say I start with the FBOs insurance and go from there
