It might be difficult to arrange, but there's a Pilots N Paws trip flying a dog from SoCal to Missoula, MT. It's possible you could help out with some flying and get yourself to your new plane.

Take the horizon non stop to sun valley and ask a local pilot (back country pilots of Idaho Facebook group) to complete the rest of the trip or pay a taxi or rent a plane and instructor from glass cockpit to take you the rest of the way.

All of these are both quicker and cheaper than splitting gas.
