Re: need tailwheel......

Paul, I have one that you are welcome to, but by the time I shipped it from Ohio, you maybe would be gone? I would pick it up at your place next summer. Let me know if you want it shipped. John

ps: you could bolt a 1x3 x 6-8 inches oak board on the spring and skid your way home??

John, I dont like to borrow things.... you dont want to sell it ? am going to leave it here for a while as I gotta get home and get work done. will bop back down in few weeks to play around here, work out a few bugs and things in it.
Depending on how house project goes and things I will set time aside in about a month to take it north. It will be good to have something to bum around in till I get the cub built...I have wings done, but not till winter will I have time to work on fuselage.

I'll keep my eye out for one, could put my baby bushwheel on it but dont want to go thru paperwork down here, the old one is a strange modified maule which has locked up on me several times....it caused me some trouble with feds.

(ramp Check) IN SOUTHERN CAL....first ramp check in over 35 yrs.of beating around the country. they sure do things different from folks in alaska. Been alot of years since I flew
down south, can see our freedoms are being taken away right before our eyes. OK I'll shut up.... other then that and HEAT I didnt have any trouble, the heat affected me alot more than I would have thought, 46 at home 105 at PHX day I got there. In morning flying to Needles for fuel stop, 103 at 10:30 am. It will be along time before I do that again...

dont forget I have a cabin with your name on it next summer.....when did you plan on being up?

Be Safe

Re: need tailwheel......

OH... that oak plank would be a FAR-FAR better from this piece of crap ....

and funny thing in so-cal.... they call weather clear and five miles, smog so thick it isnt funny...

five miles defined? that's two and a half out right wing and two and a half out the left !!

sometimes I could not see two.... Alaska is Heaven

I hope all you southern cal. pilots will someday have to chance to be able to go fly somewhere
that will allow you to enjoy boping along with the windows open and watching the world slip by,
My heart goes out for you guys! Thought I was going to break out the O/2 .....

A brand new maule t/w, either the solid rubber model or the smaller of the 2 pneumatic models, goes for around $350 from Spruce. Seems like either one oughta be plenty enough t/w for a light airplane like a Champ.
