Friend of mine(Carl Gerker) moved 108-2 from Kansas to Florida ,another from Kansas to Lancaster ,CA. -all with a Volkswagen Puck up. Ladder rack for wings > tail wheel attached to trailer hitch.Towed backward ,stopped every 400-500 miles and swapped tires around.Otherwise just get 24 foot Ryder rent truck(or Uhaul) and put it in,wings and tail off.

I got a quote for a 24' enclosed van from Penski for $1325 one way from Minnesota to Nevada. Triple A rate. Plus fuel of course :D

Re: need to move an airplane by truck

I had a guy show up here to pick up a boat one time and he wanted to put it INSIDE a Ryder Truck. We got it in there with a Bobcat and about four guys. He was picking up another one in Washington he had to pull. He was taking both of them back to Florida. He said he can use Ryders truck's to haul boats cheaper than he can maintain and pay insurance for his own truck. It will save you money doing it yourself. Put it on the back of a tow truck and just push it in.

A guy had an Antonov up in Bountiful that he towed from Seattle. He made a trailer hitch that would bolt on the tail wheel and just towed it. I would like to have seen that!
