Thanks for the response...hoping to find a Landis fork at a reasonable price as you are correct on "grab your wallet" for a new one...way overpriced. In the past, pilot buddies have received field approvals to use Cessna 310 forks and several others that fit and work just fine on the C182. Several of us aircraft mechanics are considering going after a new STC with the FAA and sell a similar heavy fork and full changeover package for half the price to remove the gouge factor.

I have an old style heavy duty 206 fork assembly that's complete minus the wheel if that will work. A 7.00 will fit in it. I just took it off for the Landis and put on an 8.50.

I just had the same subject come up the other day re a 206 nose fork on a 182. Apparently there are 2 different forks. My IA told me that there is the bent steel fork like I have on my 182 that will take almost any of the 7.00's out there and that there is a forged steel fork that will only take a skinny 7.00 (he thought there was also only one skinny 7.00 on the market, thought it might be a "Condor", but did not specifically remember for sure). I mention this because I have a fellow pilot that just installed a 206 fork on his 182 and can't find a 7.00 that will fit as all have been too wide to clear the fork.
