Very cool! But, $20.00 landing fee   !! And $10.00 to park over night  ! Damn, thing's aren't cheap in L. A.. I can fly to countless airstrips in the backcountry in ID, OR, & other states up here(private or public) for free! I was thinking that would be a fun strip to fly to when I go down to L. A. this Dec. but I'm not going to pay $20.00 to land.

Speaking of which, does anybody know of other fun dirt strips within an hours flight from Fullerton or Corona airports? That are free?

I overflew this strip on Thursday and snapped a photo, here it is.
I think the landing fee is to keep Riff-raf like us out. If you own a home in Arrowhead I doubt you'll notice the fee. I'd love to land there just for the sake of it also.

Guess I get to add this one to my list of CA public airports to land at. I'll probably do a touch and go and screw any landing fees. By the way, isn't Lake Arrowhead up in the pines? That airport looks like high desert to me...

From what I can see on GoogleEarth, there's a bunch of trees to the south of the airport. The airport must be where it transitions from forest to desert :-k . Or maybe the trees around the airport got burned down :(

My friend went there the other day and said it was like high desert. Supposedly, there is a creek and some hot springs within walking distance but he did'nt go there. He did get charged $20 for landing though!

Next time I'll fly by the other side so you can see the town and trees. They are right under me as I flew over. Strip looks to be a few miles NE of the lake and all the resort areas.
