New Gear on the way!
Aircraft building and project-level overhaul forum -- Kitplanes, experimental amateur-built, homebuilding, or even restoration of certified aircraft.
Airdale, which is the new Avid Flyer is alive and well. It was bought by a guy in his 30's in Wisconsin. He now has all the rights and all the parts and jigs. He is slowly building parts and has a goal to manufacture the Fat Avid as a kit which will compete with the Kitfox Super 7 hopefully. Anyways he's been working on a Spring Gear for some time. I was one of the first to order a set. It's 2.5" taller and 10" wider than my current gear. The best part is it's a spring gear and get's rid of the bungee cords wrapped around my cross member that I currently have. This pic is from the Airdale guys personal airplane. Here is their updated website if you care to take a look.
http://www.airdale.com/I can't wait to get this on my plane...gonna really make plopping it in slow a lot more nicer. My current gear is pretty narrow and it's a handful on the ground.
