New grass strip at Mack Mesa Colorado (CO7)

Ladd just sent me a picture of their new grass strip at Mack Mesa. Pretty cool. Wish more airports would do this. This is about 20 mi. west of Grand Juction.
They also have 100LL for $4.50/gal right now, which is a relative bargain for the area.
Maybe they will be "Trend Setters" =D> =D>

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Last time I was there it was dirt, I understand in later years paved. Where is the grass in relation to the original strip?

Gary:

Thanks for the picture man!! That really brings back memories. Mack Mesa was where I first learned to fly and where I parked my first plane (46 Luscombe 8A).

Back in the day, Mack Mesa was a real rebel base. Bunch of us low and slow types hanging around all the time. Grass is a real improvement. I am glad to see that someone is doing something with that strip! I was afraid that when Johnny H died, the strip would get closed.

Good to see you at Negrito Gary!! Didn't get a chance to thank you properly for the Marg supply.

Regards, Larry

The grass is right off the end of the pavement on the east side. It's a nice smooth transition, the grass is probably only 800-1000' long but if you are fast you still have the whole paved section to work with. The grass is very smooth.
