Gotta say I helped a friend deliver an f19 tcraft on straight floats to ak a month ago. It was awesome. A lot of planning and a little luck. What a trip

A friend we know in alaska bought it and asked us to fly it up for him. First part was getting it from new Hampshire to Michigan where we live. That was an easy weekend trip but still took a lot of planning. Then from there to alaska. That took a week and a half. Had 5 days of weather, and put 48.19 on the tach. Averaged about 70kt.

Would love to know your routing from the midwest to AK.

Well. I looked at pictures and I think it goes like this. My friend jack and took off and 1st stop was shewano. Then duluth. Cleared customs at ft frances. Stopped at a really pretty lake to put cans in. Then to gull harbor on lake Winnipeg to spend the night. Took the golf cart to neighboring resort to have a fantastic bloody ceasar. Left there into a hellacious headwing to land at grand rapids to give a couple 5g cans and some money to an Indian that took off on his 4 wheeler. 20 min later he returned! We flew back to gull harbour. Next day winds were better and made it to la ronge. Then buffalo narrows where I have an epic video of the takeoff. Then slave lake were the waves beached us hard. After pushing it back into the water ii took two attempts to take off. Had to pump the floats. T-cart is one tough plane. Then ft st John's for 5 days cause of wx. Landed in white horse in a downpour and dude picked us up on our way into town. We were dressed in trash bags to keep dry. He was a dedicated shaman. I ended up sleeping on his prayer rug surrounded by skulls. It was soft. I was tired. Little bit of my soul may have left me that night. There was supposed to be customs at yarger lake. Crickets. Hitchhiked to gas station. Very close to trees on departure. Then we landed at glennallen. Just like heaven. Lady served us a humongous bowl of soup and we spent the night. Amazing spot. Then on to Anchorage and Kenai. I doubt ill ever top that trip. We had a 12g boat tank with a transfer pump from jacks super cub in baggage plumbed into the full system. That and nose tank and wing tanks would almost get us there. Only had to refill the boat tank a couple times while flying. Had some wonderful headwinds one stretch that produced a whopping 35 mph gs. Had an epic encounter with a grizzly and cubs while hunting black bear once we got up there. There are a few highlights of this trip. I smile everytime I look at pics. Anyway. I think thats how we got there. Jack was pic. I was just the guy hanging on. Oh I may have done a little more

I laughed out loud reading this part. That was a great stream-of-recollection TR!

He was a very interesting guy. Had just got off of a week long silent retreat. Guess you just sit there are be quiet. Anyway he was a paraglider and had soared from Whitehorse area to the US and landed. Had a little tift with border patrol but whatever. He had some amazing pics of soaring at 10000 in his little apparatus. Not for me. Any of it actually
