Hello All,
I'm new at this board but have been lurking for sometime. I fly out of PVF (Placerville, CA). Been flying for many years but don't consider myself a seasoned backcountry flyer. I built and fly a Rans S-7S which if you're unfamiliar with it is a Cub like, short field, tanden seat experimental. I been slowly expanding my flights into Idaho, Utah and Oregon for the last couple of years and really enjoy the backcountry strips. I've met a few on this board and hope to meet many more. The info I've picked up here has really helped to expand my wings.
My question! I've read the thread on the Austin flyin and have decided to give it a try. If I have it right the best way to thread the restricted and MOA's from crossing the hill at Tahoe would be to head up to and overfly Falllon and then down the VFR corridor at R4812 & R4804A just north of Hwy 50. Does this sound right?
Also on the Austin thread there was some talk of being able to get 91 auto gas. Does anyone know if this is true? I'll need to pick up some fuel somewhere before heading back.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Bill.
