I bet that is just a concept movie. If the auto industry can't get a decent battery developed, I don't see a high performance aircraft system being viable yet, either. Electric propulsion systems have a number of very attractive advantages, but batteries are still a huge problem, especially when weight is important.
I'm rooting for a success here, though, because an electric system good enough for an airplane could be used for many other applications.

Electric propustion is great as long as you have a diesel gen to make the electricity. Electric propultion is a fantacy at this point. You still have to plug it in for a recharge, duh, where does that elecytricity come from. See any nuc plants going up. No you don't, but they are going to demo the dams on the Klamoth River.
