NEW STC for Cessna 180/182/185/188 from AEROPOD

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Do you have the PMA stamp on the other side also so it can be seen after installation? If not, you may want to do that in case some persnickety inspector starts inquiring. May seem like a non issue but you never have a problem, until you have a problem.

I'm having these installed this winter at Beegles. I'll make sure I have a mirror for said inspector. These are great! Thanks Aeorpod!

If I remember to stamp them before I install the nut plates, the stamp goes on the inside. I've made enough kits now I have the procedure down to a science.

The funny thing about that stamp is the FAA is fuzzy on what they mean. The reg says something like "marked with indelible ink". I asked an inspector what this meant. I buy Cessna parts regularly with markings that come off with acetone. He said "I know, mark it as well as you can". I just ordered another bottle of that fancy ink for my ink pad. It's about $40/bottle, I hope it's indelible enough.

Thanks! I wouldn't worry about that inspector though. If they are looking that close, they are going to find something no matter what you do.

I use a epoxy ink with a stamp... however I am getting more of my products anodized so I can do all of the marking on a laser cutter..

Good to see the camaraderie is still shining bright here on BCP. (Just sayin)

Try [email protected]

I installed these into my 185 this spring and found more than one surprise that was lurking back there. Best money I’ve spent.

When I search for Aeropod I get links to a faceb*** page. I don't do faceb*** but you might find him there.

Also.... I could be mistaken, but it appears the other STC mentioned above is an access panel to the jackscrews. That's not the same as the Aeropod mod.....

Sorry didn’t mean to get anybody’s panties in a wad I was was trying to add the quote from a post on the first page about somebody looking for SK185-27. Tony doesn’t offer that kit, so I was trying to help but didn’t properly quote the post.. And this is why I never comment on here.

I actually do make SK185-27, PMA'd and everything. I have a couple on the shelf ready to ship if anyone needs one. It's almost annual time...make the job easier for your AI. Odds are decent your jackscrews haven't been removed since the last time they bound up. Make this the year you get them back on the 500 hr schedule.
