Re: New to me

Ah the excitement of the airplane search, inspect, buy and check out. You wont be able to sleep a wink due to the excitement. I hope this whole process goes smoothly for you. This is darn near as much fun as actually owning and flying the airplane. Of course, this is all subject to good due diligence. Enjoy and congratulations!

Kurt

PS NICE looking airplane!

Re: New to me

Looks fun. My only advice, don't fall in love with an airplane and be willing to walk away. Good luck.

Re: New to me

Totally understandable! In my experience, at 25 hours in a new plane, I am just barely confident enough to fly in mild weather, At 50 hours, I'm getting to learn the nuances of the particular plane. By 100 hours, I'm just confident enough to hurt myself. LOL Seriously though, I just give this as a guideline to what I experience when I try a new aircraft. Granted they are quite broad time totals, but some planes just have quirks that take a bit longer to figure out.

Re: New to me

Skywagons can be a bit busy on the runway, so be sure you get a really good solid workout in your training.

Those wing extensions are going to reduce roll rate, but the Sportsman will allow you to land slower than a stock wing airplane, and that's a good thing.....take advantage of that capability. Tail low wheel landings are my favorite for these airplanes.

Most of all, enjoy it!
