New to the Forum, an EI employee
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
Good day everyone,
My name is Mathew Sharp and I am sales/tech rep for Electronics International Inc.
I joined this forum do to my interest in back country aviation. I am looking at PA-18's as well as various other cub style projects for a personal build this will be my first. I also have rotor craft time so I'm looking at various heli projects as well.
I look forward to learning all the tricks to maximizing safety and fun in the back country of the Pacific North West.

Robert "Bub" Wright, aka Skylane, passed away in November of 2011. He was a beloved community member and will be missed.
Welcome to the site.
We have a tradition around here that if you join and you work for a major avionics manufacturer, you have to raffle off 5 UBG-16's to the members. I of course will be in charge of the raffle.
It just makes sense marketing-wise.

I don't think there are many rotor heads here, but it's the best site as it is pretty un-biased as to make.
on edit: since you posted this in the products section, I'm afraid that does seem to mandate the auction

I'm out as I already have one with fuel flow and oil temp., but many others haven't seen the light yet.

I got a ride in a hele once. LOL Were almost neighbor's. I have a place on Round Butte hill out of Madras.

After the scooter, the Huey will be rather un-responsive and less fun to fly. A good car comparison to the 58 is an MG. Not fast, not powerful, but a blast to drive. Huey is a pickup truck. You will find yourself initially putting a lot of control movement in the Huey, then as it begins to move you will take about half of it out. The Huey will reward a smooth pilot, it's as if there is a delay built in between the cyclic and the rotor head. I didn't really like the Huey except in an auto, it has a huge amount of inertia in the rotor and autorotated better than anything else that I've flown. Have fun, I miss helicopters. There's something magic about being able to stop and take a good look.

I once asked a knowledgable pilot for a detailed description of how helicopters fly, and his reply was "they're just so ugly that the earth repels them".
My guess is that he didn't get selected for rotor wing duty and it left a mark...

i have flown helicoters & maules in ak for 37 years. i have an m6 and m4. most flying is on floats.
