New Tribes Mission - Quest Kodiak

I posted this on the Facebook feed the other day but forgot to post it here. Doh!

This is a great, professional-quality video produced for/by the New Tribes Mission. Watch full screen in HD if your machine is snappy enough.

I believe MAF just took delivery of their first Kodiak as well. Phenomenal airplane, wonder if I'll ever get a chance to fly it.

Re: New Tribes Mission - Quest Kodiak

You know those annoying people who have to butt into a conversation so they can be a name dropper ... that's me.

I just wanted to say thanks for posting this NTM video. I have worked closely with NTM and my brother is currently flying for them. It was crazy to see that video here. I have heard about it but never seen it. My brother is in the sequence 4:16-4:32. He also did a bunch of the piloting for the camera man filming the Cessna 185 02F. I have several hours flying 02F as well during my flights with NTM. Also, the cessna 185 that I am currently flying is the sister-ship to 02F and was totally rebuilt by my brother in the NTM hangar 2 years ago. You can see it on my post http://blueiceaviation.posterous.com/photo-of-the-day-oops

Sorry for being the annoying newbie, but I just got really excited when I saw that. You can see photos of my brother on his way to Haiti flying a helicopter (photos on my blog from Jan 21). He arrived in Haiti today at 1300 and is on loan from NTM to Samaritan's Air for several weeks.

What organization does this kind of flying with out the religious slant ? Anyone know ? There was a thread on here (maybe earlier in the year) about humanitarian flying of this type......Still a great video. =D>

Re: New Tribes Mission - Quest Kodiak

I saw the Kodiak at Oshkosh and spent a while looking at it. The outboard 8 feet of wing is a high lift airfoil, while the inner part is a fast wing like a caravan. Apparently it works.
