New User from AK

Hi!

I stumbled across your site in my search for a plane. I'm a helicopter pilot that's looking to get into the fixed wing scene.

Your forum has a lot of good reads so far and a lot of flying that's right up my alley!

Re: New User from AK

Denali Pilot - you wouldn't happen to fly for Denali Air, would you?

AKFlyer2001 - That'd be great! I just logged a little dual complex seaplane time today courtesy of a new friend in Chena Marina.

I think he (unfortunately for my wallet) convinced me to look into a C-170/180 instead of the Pacer I was looking towards, hahaha.

Denali Pilot - I would too, they're great people. They really bent over backwards to help us out when we had an aircraft PL there last month!

Ken - Don took me up, he's another great person I've had the opportunity to meet through aviation up here!

Re: New User from AK

Hey! Sorry about all the missed replies - I've been mostly out of the loop and off the grid for the last 24 days. I didn't end up getting a hunt in, I had a big event I had to prep for at work so I didn't go. Turns out it was a good decision, as much as I would have rather been hunting.

GT, you'll be coming in on the 13th? It'd be cool to hang out, maybe grab some lunch with Ken or something.

Re: New User from AK

Eh Kenny! Although I did not post any photos here, the plane has been flying A LOT this summer.... we found new bush strips in the mountains, etc. I have filmed most of my outings on the drift attached to an inspection port on the port side wing...they look pretty good..I just need to edit them for viewing...will do that before Christmas.

-5 celsius this morning, snow on the ground in Whitehorse...I guess I better put the new Kehler skis I got!

Cheers, J-M

Re: New User from AK

Hi James, we are to get the white stuff this weekend. I still need to get the wood cut.
I will put the skies on next week. Hope to do some wolf hunting. I got stuck last winter big time.
Stay warm and fly safe. Might fly down next summer to do some fishing with you.
