New video called "Dead Stick Takeoff Flying Adventures"

IT'S OFFICIAL !!! My new fun to watch video is finally out! My website is : http://www.deadsticktakeoff.com I have a link to a short teaser that is a good sample of what the video is like. I explain what I'm doing a lot and there is very little music. It is not about the scenery either, it is about the flying and landing and taking off in some pretty challenging places.

I have a lot of fun sharing my fun by taking others flying too and it is usually other pilots that get the most nervous when they go with me because they realize the difficulty of these places.

I show landing a few places that many think are difficult like Mile Hi and Dewey Moore and then go to some other places that are WAY more challenging! It is about 45 min. long.

Check it out!
Thanks, Steve

I probably should change it since that is probably the only thing I will ever be "famous" for.

Re: New video called "Dead Stick Takeoff Flying Adventures"

I had just landed one of my "fun" places only I was a few feet off to the side of where I really should have been. I hit a really big bump that made my tail go up the highest I've ever had it go up in the air. I mean I was looking at the ground right in front of my nose. [-o< It's a real good thing I have about 3 feet of prop clearance when all 3 wheels are down, cause I'm sure I used it all this time. It was a pretty good hill I was landing up and the tail finally came back down. =D> I was so relieved to still be right side up that I kinda forgot to give a blast of power to soften the TW contact and wouldn't you know it, it came down right on a rock and broke off my TW spring. #-o I am going to change out the spring ever couple thousand landings when I do my annual from now on. This one was tired out, I could see an old crack in it where it broke.

Re: New video called "Dead Stick Takeoff Flying Adventures"

I received my DVD about 3 days after I ordered it. I watched it last night and I now have a new FAVORITE flying video. The places you fly and the landings speak for themselves but as far as videos go. I loved the raw sounds and commentary. Also like the variety of scenery and types of terrain. I can only hope to have half your skills someday. If everyone was as proficient as you are in your airplane we'd have a hell of lot less accidents that's for sure!! I'd love to come and fly with you someday. I grew up about 80 miles East of Lewiston Idaho in a small logging community called Pierce. I did not realize you were in Nampa until I saw the address on the DVD.

Hey Joey, I'm glad you like my video. Your comments about it are pretty typical of the response I've been getting so far.
We are taking a whole bunch of them to Sun & Fun and will be set up with the good people from Just Aircraft.
I've got no idea how many people on this forum will be there but at least stop and say hello if you can. :D
Thanks, Steve

Now that is a good video. Stick and rudder skills, superb timing at 1 or 2 feet agl and didn't depend on the sound track to fool the viewers! Nice work.

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

Re: New video called "Dead Stick Takeoff Flying Adventures"

Amazing Video! My kids and I were glued from beginning to end. Makes me want to go flying even more, if that's possible. Don't worry, I'll practice a few more hours before careening down a mountain with my engine off. I can't wait for the next video.
