So I got some new Desser 31’s on order, along with the grove tubeless setup, but they aren’t here yet and I need to roll the areoplane around the shop, so here are the shop shoes:

Not running yet, they are on order, and for the experimental which isn't done yet. If the STC comes out for the 180/185 this winter or spring, I'll file for field approval to run them on my 170 since I have 180 gear and double pucks. I think I have a chance to convince the FAA since my airplane is basically a 180 below the belly.
That way they will at least see some use on the 170 before I swap them back to the bearhawk when it's done.

Greg, what wheels and tires are those? Looking for an alternative for the Husky other than AK Bushwheels or GarAero's. Forgive me if it has been mentioned before.
Thanks
Kurt
PS Great idea on the catering wheels on the gear of a project airplane!

Keep me updated on this if you can, I have the same set up on my 170 as far as gear. I want to try tubeless also. Greg

I'll post something on here if I can get it, and if not, it's pretty obvious which airplane is mine and it will have new shoes.

Those Dessers are bulletproof. After 2 yrs and nearly 80 hours with frequent pavement use in between off airport and never being covered up they have not weather checked and still look new. That being said I have tubes and have run them to 7-8 psi. (Don’t want to test lower as I am a member of the “sheared a valve stem club.”) Still to stiff even at max gross (2000# cub) on really rough surfaces. But otherwise on everything else out in the bush they are fine. I am going to go the Bushwheel route eventually, even though I initially said I wouldn’t. Nice stiff sidewalls!
