My dad's cat managed to drag one in a few years ago. My dad recognized what it was and took it to a local biologist to confirm. We never had any idea they existed in this part of the world prior to that. Dad still keeps it in the freezer as a conversation piece.
Yeah, looks like they have the same aspect ratio as an F-104. I'm surprised they can glide at all instead of just plummet. The first one to try it out must have had some huge squirrel cahones that moved his CG aft for a better glide.
In Australia, the sugar gliders are kinda the same, except they are marsupials. They may even be a little bit more cute too:
