Nimpo Lake

Overnighted at the Nimpo Lake Lodge at the north end of Nimpo Lake. About a 1600' strip, easy walk to the lodge at the beach. You can see Logan's SuperCub docked behind the cabin, heard a rumour it might be for sale. Sad sight behind Terry and Lois's hanger at the seaplane ramp, legacy from that terrible fire.

Saw you on final, Mary said "who's that?" Hell, I dunno.
Now we know! Hope your trip was as good as the Nimpo wx. :)

Re: Nimpo Lake

See you next time. Got out through the Homathko to Bute Inlet, stopped and had a coffee with Chuck and Sheron Burchill at the Homathko camp. Went by Waddington and couldn't believe how fast the Tiedemann glacier is retreating.

Keep that wx good. I'll be driving through there in about three weeks for Bella Coola.

Re: Nimpo Lake

Nimpo is definitely on my short list of next destinations. I've been wandering in ever-larger circles since getting my PPL three weeks ago. Prince George and back on Saturday to see family and stretch my limits a bit more.

I can't wait to get into Homathko. I hear Scum Lake is a very nice spot too. I hunt near Gang Ranch so I'd like to land there but I'm not wild about leaving an airplane alone anywhere west of Williams Lake so I think I'll keep driving up.

I think there is a nice duck pond right beside Puntzi, restored by Ducks Unlimited a few years ago.

Really, an embarrassment of great flying opportunities near here. BC rocks!

One guy said "Fish are biting so fast, ya gott'a hide behind a tree to bait your hook."
Fish are a bit smaller this year, but lots of 'em.

Re: Nimpo Lake

Yep, mostly rainbows. I'm heading down to Bella Coola one of these days to get a couple spring salmon in the river. Still wanna fish east of Yellerknife but can't find a partner to travel with. I miss chewing on walleyes.
Gonna pick up my new truck tomorrow!

Ya we go every year. It's awesome. Nothing like wearing out fish hooks in a weekend of fishing. Or pulling weeds off your hook only to look down and realize that there's a 5 lb Pike looking up at your hook, so finish pulling weeds off, drop hook in and pull fish out!
