Looks like when you go bar hoppin in Nome you dont have to drive to far. Our weathers been exactly like that for the last 2 weeks. ive always liked pictures of the real life way up north. thanks guys!!! doug

what a great suprise to see a nome thread. my wife and i lived there from 2003 to 2006. she was the banker and i worked at bering air. had a lot of fun at the classy establishments mentioned here! i miss everything but the wx...fog and 40 degrees is june just about put me over the edge. i sure do long for my barber chair at breakers and cant wait for a reunion!!

Got one or two of Kotz, but the Barrow pics are from the days way before digital.

I spent one whole afternoon, about /12 mile out on the ice in front of town learning how to catch King crag with two sticks, a string about 60' long, and a piece of fish. The old timer teaching me was patient but I never learned to make the string sing like him. Fun way to catch dinner.
Spent about the same amount of time trying to get the C-180 on wheel ski out of the overflow near Golovin.
