Sometimes the most fun way to get into the backcountry, Part 103 Ultralights and Light Sport Aircraft have their own considerations.

NorCal CFI

Hello, I have been away from flying for many years and want to finish my private. My plan is to buy either a 172 or vixen or rams s6 to finish my rating. I wanted to ask if anyone here has a recommendation for a CFI, I am in Petaluma. In the past I have had 2 great CFI’s and others not so great. I’ve lost contact with both( it’s been 20 years). Any recommendations would be great. Thank you.

Run out to the Sonoma Skypark airport on any good weather Saturday just before noon, they have an airport lunch there and they have a small one on one flight school, might find a good lead.

Since you're in Petaluma I'd talk to Peggy Bakker at the Petaluma Pilot Training Center. She trained a friend of mine and he thinks she's wonderful. I'm currently working on my private pilot and if I lived nearby I'd use her. I did a flight with her last year, liked her a lot, no nonsense type and made sure I was using the rudders. 707 265-1889.

If she had you using the "rudders" you may want to think about that...[emoji12][emoji41]
