Norcal Floatplanes
Information and discussion about seaplanes, float planes, and water operations.
I'm going to give them a mention purely on the basis of their promo video being so good.
Really, cockpit footage doesn't get much better.
Watch the HD version in fullscreen.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Did my Seaplane stuff there awhile back, have not met the new owners but I hear they are awesome.Lots of super fun areas to fly around there. The pond where they keep the plane is right out of a storybook,,,,just amazing.

Hey, that's like a 10min flight from me. Didn't even know they were there. Great video.

What aircraft do they have? I remember them having a C150/150 for SES & an Apache for MES, but it seems like I remember one of those getting wecked.

Great ride in the cockpit! No one should have to choose between planes with wheels, skiis and floats. We should all have one of each.

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.

They still have the Apache, and they now have a PA-18 to replace the 150.

Incidentally, that was shot on a Canon 7D DSLR with a fisheye lens (not sure which one). Ray from Norcal said they video in the plan was simply "handheld" (not mount), and the stuff from shore was done on a tripod and the pan was on a track.
I have heard different reports of image stabilization on these new DSLR's shooting full 1080 or 720, but this and some other video using the Canon 5D are just amazing.
