Red Lake was-is quite the jumping off point and has quite a history of it's own, besides the Norseman festival. As a side note, Jeff at PKD bought a Norseman this spring. I don't think there will be a problem hauling the whole family, plus friends to the cottage any more. Steve

It is a great show. I will probably go again this year. It would be fantastic if there were a bunch of other bcp's fly in this year; perhaps we could get together and trade stories. Just a note though. Other than the Norseman fly-by on Sunday, this isn't an airshow. It is more like a town fair with a strong aviation theme. If you love seaplanes (as I do), then you will certainly be at home here, but don't expect to see dozens of private floatplanes fly in here as I was quite possibly the only private floatplane to attend last year. Many commercial operators do come in here with their Norsemans and if you haven't had a ride in one, this is your chance. It is a chance to hang out at the dock and talk to the guys who are living the dream. So, if you do plan on coming here, look for my Maule (if my attempt to paste it in here doesn't work it's in my gallery), and/or call me at 204.782.3570 as I'd love to meet some other bcp'ers at this event.

Hey Andy - i might need a ride up there - will be three weeks at the end of this week for my "mods" being added to the plane with no projected completion date in site,......

Andy, I flew in for the show on Sunday of last year. Ah, a meeting of the BCP Canadian chapter. Let me know which day you will be there, and weather permitting, we will meet up. I will e-mail to see if Super Sportsman is in the area and can come along. There are several of the MN guys that are in reasonable flying range of Red Lake. I will probably fly in Friday evening or Saturday morning. There is a get together on the Friday evening for pilots which might be kind of fun. Depends a bit on whether I can get away from the office Friday afternoon. We'll see.

Caught a bunch of fish last year on the Saturday evening from shore a short walk from town. Between three of us we had 21", 22" and 23" walleyes plus a bunch of smaller ones.

That was "almost" as exciting as the ride in the Norseman, but not quite.

Garth, you're always welcome to ride. Hope your 'mods' get done soon.
