Northern Lights ???

So, the news around here is saying we have a small chance of seeing the northern lights tonight if we are in far northern Utah and away from light pollution. I am both of those. Question for ya; are the lights more easily viewed from a plane? Say a few thousand feet AGL??

If you can get away from light pollution below you, the higher, the better!! It gives you more visible sky as the horizon drops.

Flying from SLC or MSP to ANC during the winter is always fun at night. If they're really popping, it almost feels like you're IN them 40,000 ft!
