Northern MI Labor day weekend flyin

6Y9 in Sidnaw, MI is hosting it's 5th annual Labor Day weekend flyin. Most BCP members would find this to be your type of flyin. Although the organized flyin date is Saturday September 4, many planes arrive on Friday and camp until Sunday or Monday. Last year we had 26 planes from all over the midwest and as far away as Colorado. There is a restaurant across the street for breakfast and lunches, and a bar 7 miles down the road that we usually shuttle campers down to Friday and Saturday night. There will be a fire pit for anybody who would like to enjoy a campfire. I've attempted to attach a url for the flyin announcement flyer. In the event that my attachment fails or you would like more information about 6Y9, visit http://www.sidnaw.org/6y9/index.htm. Everyone is welcome for the day or the weekend. Please let me know if anybody has any specific questions that I might be able to answer.

Re: Northern MI Labor day weekend flyin

Matt,
I really hope you can make it. We have a ton of fun up there. Please feel free to invite anyone you feel might be interested. What are you flying and where are you based? I see you're from Lansing. We're hangared at 9D9 in Hastings. We are heading up Thursday afternoon. Feel free to drop in when ever you can. FYI, the local restaurant has a fish fry on Friday night. There are a group of pilots from the pilotsofamerica (POA) forum planning to try and be into 6Y9 by 5 to partake of the fish fry. If you get bored and want to peruse others' comments regarding the flying checkout http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/?. Scroll down to Cool Places to Fly and look for the Six Yankee Niner Flyin forum.

P.S. There is an old school building at the west end of the field that has a shower for pilots to use. It's very temporary and nothing special but does serve the purpose.
