Northwest spots

It looks like I have a plane each day this weekend and trying to come up with some locations to go visit as the beginning of my northwest exploration out of Yakima. I don't know jack around here other than the grass strips around this immediate area we use for work.

I'm thinking friends to visit, breakfast spots, or even lunch. I'm tempted to just fly down to the Twin Oaks area to see if I can meet up with any of you and so I can meet the Starks. But that's only one place. I'm going to try a short trip each morning if it works out.

If you haven't flown down the gorge yet it is awesome!
800 - 1000ft is a great view.
I always stay on the Washington side going West and the Oregon side East bound. There are some fast planes that like that same altitude and run right up the center.

I think there is a breakfast fly in at Joseph State this Saturday.

I'm down here in Emmett (S78), Idaho this weekend

Gorge? Sounds nice, is that along that river that runs east / west?

I've only flown around Yakima and a couple of the valleys right here. Been in and out of Buena. I've landed no where else besides there and Yakima, flown over lots of private grass strips in our "test box" though.

That's doable, isn't that where the bushwheel gang is based?

Yes, from Hood River West. I like the Oregon side best, lots of vertical terrain and waterfalls.
Was thinking if you go to Twin Oaks, that might be your route.

That might work, I hadn't looked too much at routes that way...figured I'd kind of wander to a destination anyway. Might go down more direct along Mt Adams and come back along the gorge.

Yep. It's beautiful down that way, too.
