So cool, I just had to do the same kind of trip but in my slightly more modern Land Rover. It was amazing what that did in early vehicles, you still see the tracks all over the desert along with the rusting cans they discarded. I did mange to do a successful Condor hunt on the top of the Vermillion Cliffs. While the government may be shut down, they are ramping up the program of putting registration numbers on all the birds. Apparently by 2020 all birds must be registered and have ADS-B in them.

You can hunt Condors in Flagstaff? Here in California they have more rights than I do. I don't have any airspace above my house where the sectional chart requests those pesky private pilots to stay the hell away.

Well, I hunt with a camera, so nobody bitches. BTW, it also had a small transmitter and antenna on its right wing. Either they track them continuously or the NSA has found a new way to follow me around. Or, as I said they are ADS-B compliant.
