Not Flying, but a lot of fun

This Bull was called to 10 yards by a great friend, and fellow pilot. It green scored approximately 325. One of the greatest days of Archery hunting I have ever had.

A special thanks to Troy Woydziak who did all the work of calling the Bull into us, I was just the lucky one who got the shot. Anybody who bow hunts for Elk knows the importance of a great caller. He is one of the best!!!

Outstanding! I don't personally hunt with a bow but I certainly respect it. I've got about four weeks until gun season in my unit here. Looking forward to it.
Were you hunting with Troy that owns the FBO in Baker?

I have a Carrol Intruder, 85lb pull. Bought it used in "91" Been a great bow. Heavy compared to the newer bows. Little old fanshioned to, with 2 cams. See some of the newer gear has one cam.

Nice Bull, Wayne!

I drew both, Wagontire Buck and Malhuer #1 Bull tag, this year. First time in three years. Be great no matter what happens. First year for my son to draw, so we can hunt together. My daughter drew a early cow hunt. No luck there yet. Still a week to go.

Maybe a new thread area here. "The Hunt"

See ya, Bub

Once it breaks over, the let off is easy to hold. Course I'm still slinging aluminum arrows. Easton Game Getter II, 125 grain thunder head tips. So it's a big log. The bow guy I talk to a lot about the new stuff, says the new bows pull 65 or less and shoot carbon arrows at faster/flatter speeds. They also weigh about half as much as my bow.

BTW a new bow with all the goodies cost the same as a new M-4-5 10-4893-10 Marvel Shebler (sp) carburator. :(

Rob,

I’m not sure what the sur Royals are. The main beams are approximately 45” the #4 tines are approximately 17”and the eye guards are approximately 16”.

Lowflin’G3,
Yes that is Troy from Baker Aircraft.

Abe,
Yes I want to get into Red’s before the snow flies. No we did not use Troy’s Helo to get the bull out. We were able to get a vehicle to the bull. We still had to cut the hindquarters off to get it in the pickup. It was all Troy and I could do to get the front quarters and the head in the pickup.

I really want everybody to know how much of getting this bull was because of Troy’s calling. I was just the lucky one who got the shot. I would not have been able to get that nice of a bull without a great caller.
