Have a problem with the website? Maybe you can find the answer here.

Notifications

I have tried everything and I cannot seem to get notifications when new content is posted here on BCP. I have gone into Profile > Preferences > Email and Notifications and selected all of the boxes. Yet, I get nothing. I would really like to be notified when something new is posted here. Especially on the forum. I am building a Bearhawk and part of my daily routine is to login to the bearhawkforums website and read all of the new posts. Would love to do the same here. PLEASE HELP!

Re: Notifications

Log in, click "view options", then click "view new posts".
Works for me, and I'm a caveman.
There's usually a dozen or more threads with new posts every day.

Re: Notifications

PM me your email address and I'll look at the mail system logs. It might be your provider is rejecting. That would at least tell us where the problem is....

Re: Notifications

Doesn't look like you can subscribe to a forum category, only a specific topic. Subscribe to some some other topic and see if you get email, I suspect you will.

If it does, the the email part isn't the problem, the problem is that you want the forum to work in a way that it doesn't.

Re: Notifications

I apologize. I thought all forums had the notification feature and it was me that could not locate how find it here.

I sent you my email address in a PM.

I do however think I have determined how to see new forum posts without being notified... I go to my home profile page > hover over the "forum" button > click "new posts"... DUH!

Thanks for your help.

There are several ways in.

Main menu > Community>Forum> Latest forum topics

When in the forum, go to the "View options" menu, which drops down and shows you:

View unanswered posts
View unread posts
View new posts
View active topics
View your posts

Any of these can be accessed directly, or bookmarked, unlike other forum software like VBulletin which uses only cached searches.
