O-320 Stroker
Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.
Has anyone built an O-320 stoker on a narrow deck. Yes, it's the weekend, and my mind is wandering again. I've got an O-320 in my Rebel and at a currently rated 150HP. I had to re-ring a cylinder last week due to low compression. I'm thinking the engine could use a rebuild soon and the cost over overhaul has me considering different option.
1. Just order a new O-340 Titan, the most expensive option and long wait time.
2. Get a stroker kit, if they are still available, and get closer to 180 HP.
3. Rebuild my narrow deck to 160 HP since i aIready have a set of high compression pistons on the shelf.
4. Rebuild it stock to 150HP which will be the cheapest.
Is it possible to install a stoker kit on a narrow deck?

Just curious, how would it be cheaper to rebuild to 150hp if you already have pistons for 160hp?

The pistons are the cheapest part. I wouldn’t let those sway your thinking. The expensive part is replacing the longer through studs to get enough length to accommodate banana plates on the narrow deck.
Some people have run 8.5:1 pistons in a narrow deck with no adverse effects even without the banana plates. You’re experimental.
I’d be looking into that stroker kit, for all the effort.

I bought the pistons recently and they haven't been installed yet. If anyone has looked at rings for the older straight wall cylinders...$260/set.

Honestly the best route might be to sell your O-320 ND to a certified guy, and then find an WD core to overhaul. Even if you just go 9:1 pistons and Electronic Ignition, you'll be in the 170hp range. The 340's are known to have a pretty serious powerpulse and eats metal props, so if you go that route you'll probably have to run a Catto or similar.
