Not necessarily information about airstrips or airports, but more general info about a greater area or a route of flight.

O H I O (or in the neighborhood)

I'm lookin for some back-countryish places to fly to in the Ohio area. You know, grass strips, places to camp, etc. I don't have my hopes up on places I can take my rifles shooting (legally at least), but it would definitely be an added bonus. Thanks!

...hey, stop at at Graham Field (OH82) this spring. We are going to take a couple of guys from PA (flying a cub) on an eastern Ohio on a bad azz grass tour.

Last spring, we took Diana from Missouri into about 20 strips in a little over half a day.

How short can you land? And how steep of a slope do you like?

later,
John

That sounds like a blast!

Right now I'm gettin ready for my private checkride, so I don't have all that many hours (about 60ish). In the 172, I can plant it pretty well, and am comfortable with anything over about 1700'. I don't have really any experience with incline though.

BigDog ...do stop in, but that won't get it on this tour. Good luck on the check ride.

Yeah, kind of figured so. Most of the grass stuff I've done so far has been out of Mad River, Waynesville, Middletown, and a few "uncharted" strips around Wilmington (They're a dime a dozen, It seems like everyone has their own!)

Hey John,

When is your next fly-in? I got clobbered by the weather last October and couldn't make it. Sure would like to try again.

Today saw Ohio Bush planes landing and taking off on a small spot on a tall hill field close to Graham's airport.

Sure miss their you tube videos.

Great pilots.

STOL on a tall, small, slopped spot is the cat's meow!!
