Off-Airport Geocaching

Hi all, I have some friends in Alaska that have started off-airport geocaching and seem to be having some fun. I am located in Northern Utah and was wondering if others in the region would have some interest in doing this. What are your thoughts?

I've been wishing for something like this for years. Too bad I'm without plane...

I've been known to do a bit of off-airport Geo-caching.

Hey dwbeaver. Looks like you're new to the site, so I'll jump in with a warm welcome to ya. You're in my neck of the woods. If you're so inclined tell us a little about yer self. Hard to tell on that avatar but if that's your plane it looks quite badassish......

Thanks UtahMaule, I was turned on to this site a few weeks ago by another memeber. I have returned to Utah recently from a 6 year tour in Alaska where I had the time of my life! I learned to fly there and made many good friends in the flying community.

I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a PA-18-150 Super Cub while in Alaska, with all the Alaska mods of course. She's not very fast but man is she fun. It's pretty cool to gain a new prespective on your world from the low and slow view. Me and a friend flew it down from Wasilla about 3 weeks ago and what a great experience that was!

I must admit that like many of you guys here on this site I am obsessed with flying, it's usually the last thing on my mind at night and the first thing in the morning. I can't wait until the next time I get to go flying! I'm not a big fan of paved airport to paved airport flying and am looking forward to exploring many of the backcountry strips around and making new friends along the way. I currently am based out of KBMC.

Once again, thanks for the welcome!.
